Get started on your machine

HighFi runs locally. You need Node 20 or later, Git, your frontend repository and your Pen file. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.

Install with one command

HighFi is in early access, so the repository is private for now: ask Devin or Lenilson for access first. Then this clones HighFi into ~/highfi, installs it, adds a highfi command and opens the app at localhost:5173.

curl -fsSL https://www.highfi.dev/install.sh | sh

Next time, start it with highfi. You can read the script first; it needs Node 20 or later and Git, and writes only to ~/highfi and ~/.local/bin/highfi.

Look around HighFi's own project

The app opens on HighFi checking its own design file against its own code, so every view has something real in it. Open Drift, Library and Tokens to see how a project reads before you bring yours. Prefer to do it by hand? git clone [email protected]:lenilsonjr/highfi.git, then npm ci and npm run dev in frontend-prototype-v1.

Onboard your codebase

In the project menu choose New project, then Existing codebase. Point it at your frontend checkout and your Pen catalog folder. HighFi scans components, routes and seed data, and proposes an import plan by prominence. It never writes to your checkout; agents work in a clone.

Read your first drift

Open Drift. Every row has a state (synced, code ahead, design ahead, conflict, missing) with its evidence. Expand a row to see the Pen and code side by side.

Fix one row with an agent

Choose Resolve toward on a row, pick a side, and send it to your agent. Mock runs work out of the box. For real runs, set AGENT_DRIVER=claude with Claude Code installed. Review the diff and approve; nothing is pushed without you.

Tell us what happened

Early access is how we learn. Note where you got stuck, what you expected and what HighFi said, and send it to Devin or Lenilson. Every note shapes this guide and the product.

Stuck? Run npm run typecheck and npm run test:unit in frontend-prototype-v1; both should pass. If the app shows "offline", the file API on 5178 is not running. Start it with npm run dev.
